International examinations in languages take an important place in a student's curricula: they are worldwide recognized standards. Here are the exams that are available currently in Victoria and Vancouver.
What is the DELF?
The DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française) is an official diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the French
language competency of candidates outside of France.
Is it available in Victoria?
Yes! Contact us if you are an independent school and interested in offering "DELF
scolaire" to your students .
And Contact UVic for information and availability of public DELF exam of other levels .
What is the TCF?
The TCF exam assesses a person’s level of French for general purposes. It is intended for people who are non-native speakers wishing to
assess and certify their skills in French in a simple, reliable and timely fashion, and for academic, professional, or personal reasons.
What is the TEF?
The TEF Canada is recognised as official proof of language proficiency by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as well as the Quebec
Ministry of Immigration and Cultural Communities (MICC) for permanent residency applications, Quebec Selection Certificate applications
and Canadian citizenship applications.
Are these exams offered in Victoria?
Not yet! UVIC will soon offer TCF exams and we are working on getting certified as a TEF exam center. We'll keep you informed via our
newsletter.
